The ruins
hidden within the forests, somewhere nearby the shores of
Lake Shaba is the site of an ancient civilization. Lost through
years of growth of the jungle, these ruins... were thought
of as the "Ruins of an Ancient City".

Sajana, once a Free Woman of the wagon peoples, on her search
of a new home .... traveled through the jungles.
As she came
to a clearing in the jungle. There was a city in this clearing.
The architecture of city populated, thriving, hidden in the
jungle. It was not known what had become of the population
of the city which had been permitted to fall into ruins. No
marks of war or fire, or other forms of sudden destruction,
had been discernible. Meals had apparently been left uneaten,
and fires untended. At a given point, perhaps determined by
their priests or chiefs, for no reason that is clear to us,
the population, it seemed, had abandoned the city, marching
away into the jungles. The fate of the population was one
of anthropologys mysteries. She walked quickly toward
the city. She, perhaps alone of all white people, now understood,
or thought she understood, what had become of the population
of the city which, over centuries, had fallen into ruins.
They had come here, it seemed, to this point in the jungle,
and, here, had rebuilt their city. The numerous individuals,
red men and women, in theft colorful feathers and robes, on
the walks and terraces of this city, maintaining their old
way of life, it seemed, were their living descendants.
Excited with
her find, she decided to try to find ways to restore some
of the buildings within, leaving the outter parts of the jungle
as they are..
'keeping the city hidden'.
